Making and unmaking
In my practice, the perpendicular grid structure enforced by a weaving loom serves as metaphor for the constraints and systems of our society. I’ve challenged the floor loom and vertical looms in the past, now I create and destroy the simplest form of this machine: the frame loom. I circumvent normative control by scattering tension points and directional rhythms with thread. Toeing the line between collapse and innovation, I play with this queering of weaving.
